Contest
Decorated bras will be on display from Feb. 15th to Feb. 28th on our website, www.cancerassociationofshelbycountyindiana.org Voting will be done by patron participation.
$1.00 = 1 vote online, at participates place of business and at the Event on March 1st. All donations will be given to the Cancer Association of Shelby County Inc. to help those battling cancer in our community.
Pricing
Each bra entry requires a non-refundable $10.00 entry fee.
Eligibility
The show is open to all original artworks. All entries will follow the submission guideline. The organizing committee reserves the right to refuse to accept or display any entry.
Awards & Prizes
There will be four winners, 1st 2nd and 3rd will be determined by number of votes received. The 4th place winner will be determined by organizing committee “Committee Favorite”. Final vote count will be on Saturday, March 1st with awards will be given out at during the evenings event.
Submission Guidelines
- All entries are to be created on a new 38C or larger back-closure bra. All straps, front, back and sides should be completely decorated. Strapless bras cannot be accepted. Please do not sew the bra closed. The inside does not need to be decorated.
- Bras should be well constructed as they may be moved and mounted on various mannequins. Appliqués and other applied objects should be firmly attached. Sewing is preferred but strong glues and other mechanical fastening methods are acceptable. Tape is not recommended.
- Bras are to be constructed of materials that are not perfumed, soiled, perishable, or in any way inherently dangerous. Pease do not use food or food products.
- Bras must be constructed in a manner that allows for mounting or transfer to a display mannequin or mounted on special hangers. No backing panels or plaques.
- Each entry must include a name tag with the designer’s name, contact information and a bra name. Name tags must be attached to the interior of the bra or written on with a permanent marker.
- All bras will be considered as a donation and will become the property of the event. The four winning bras will be kept on display in the downtown window of the Cancer Association for 30 days and placed on their association’s face book page.
- All entries must have registration form attached (next page).
When & Where for the Bra Design Photoshoot

Bras will then be placed on a mannequin for the picture to be featured online for voting. Each bra entry has the option to have their bra featured on a model of their choosing and submit a picture for the online voting no later than February 8th. Models must wear under the designer’s bra either a solid white or black shirt. Shirt must also be a crew neck or turtleneck. Pictures must be from the waist up. You can get very creative when selecting to use a model with hats, props, etc. Committee has the right to reject any model picture entry that is not tasteful.
When & Where to Drop Your Bra Off
All bras should be dropped off at the Cancer Association by Wednesday, February 26th before 5:00 p.m. Please have your bra packaged in a manner to prevent damage during the transportation to the event.
